What is the UNION JACK? It's the national flag of the United Kingdom, formed by combining the flag of England ( St George's cross), Scotland (St Andrew's cross) and Ireland (St Patrick's cross).
As you can see it was first the Union Flag (England &Scotland) in 1606 before it turned up to the Union Jack in 1801.
EMBLEMS:
The Lion, for its bravery, is the national animal emblem of England.
Remember Richard the Lionheart king of England from 1189 until 1199.
The rose is England's national flower.
The Unicorn is the national animal of Scotland

The Thistle is the floral emblem.
The Red Dragon is a popular welsh symbol. This myth originated from the tale of Merlin's vision of a red and a white dragon battling, with the victory of the red one.
The Leek (poireau) is the national emblem of Wales
The daffodil (jonquille) is the national flower of Wales.
Many of the symbols of Ireland were earlier to the division into Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (1922).
The Shamrock is the national plant and emblem of Northern Ireland.
The celtic Harp is a national symbol of the Republic of Ireland
We can find it on the Irish Euro coins.

SEAS SEASSURROUNDING THE BRITISH ISLES:
The British Isles are bordered by 4 (four) seas:
- to the south by the English Channel ( la Manche), which separates it from continental Europe.
- to the east by the North Sea
- to the west by the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
